Plumbing and Heating for Bigger Homes on Bigger Lots
Watchung's name comes from a Lenape word meaning "high hills," and you can see why. Many homes here sit on lots of an acre or more, and many along streets like Mountain Boulevard and Valley Drive were built in the middle of the last century.
That shapes the work. Larger homes often have more bathrooms, bigger hot water demand and more than one heating or cooling zone, so sizing and setup matter. Homes with decades behind them may have older water heaters, boilers and piping that are due for a look. Either way, we'll check what you actually have, explain your options in plain English, and recommend what makes sense for your home and your budget.
We regularly help Watchung homeowners with water heater replacements (including tankless), boiler and furnace repairs, leaking pipes and fixtures, clogged drains and sewer backups, water service line repairs, kitchen and bathroom plumbing, and whole-home water filtration.
Heating & Cooling for Every Season
Whether your boiler needs a tune-up before winter, your furnace is acting up, or your AC quit in the middle of July, we can help. We also install and service ductless mini splits and heat pumps, which can be a good fit for older homes without ductwork.
Commercial Service for Local Businesses
About one in five of our customers is a business. If you run a shop, office or service business in or around Watchung, we're glad to help keep your plumbing, heating and cooling running. If you have any inquiries as a commercial business please call the office at 877-FOR-IZZYS or email us at Support@Izzysplumbing.com.

Did You Know?
Watchung is celebrating its 100th year as a borough in 2026. It was organized in April 1926 and was once known as Washingtonville, because George Washington used the first ridge of the Watchung Mountains to watch British troop movements during the Revolutionary War. Just over the border in Green Brook, Washington Rock marks the spot where he kept watch. Another early nickname, Browes Town, came from farmers letting their cows browse in the valley.
